Who comes through the shop door, what they tend to want, and what you get for keeping them happy.

Who are the characters in Dressmaker?
Dressmaker has ten clients: Rose, Prudence, Priya, Marie, Edith, Dorothy, Fiona, Alice, Vivian and Adora. Each one brings commissions for events in their own story, from Prudence's funeral to Edith's opera gala and Adora's coronation, and each has friendship stars from 1 to 5 that unlock new pattern pieces. Dorothy introduces Berty, the pigeon, who brings side commissions by pigeon post. Every client also has a story achievement for finishing their line, and those are the rarest achievements in the game (around 6 to 10% of players). The story and dialogue are written by Kerstin. Berty and the pigeon commissions
Dorothy's first dress (the 10th story commission) unlocks You've Got Mail and Berty. Berty brings pigeon commissions: short side requests, some with choices. Doing all of them gives Birds of a Feather, Frock Together; some players saw it pop early, and more pigeon commissions arrived in later builds. Choosing "leech" in one of Vivian's pigeon requests gives Sucker for Punishment.

Players ask this on the Steam forums, and there is no confirmed answer yet. We will add it once the developers or a clear report confirm it.
+Can I fail a friendship?
No way to lose stars is reported. A refused dress (as at Prudence's funeral) just means you remake it.
+Do gifts raise reputation?
There is no confirmed gift system; stars come from commissions.
